were I a gsi, I would instantly take the grade down to a C for starting a paper like that. that is some baaaad ninth-grade-level shit.
I have a student who starts EVERY PAPER with a 3-line long quote. And a totally nonsensical sentence afterwards. I slash points for dictionary definitions. I AM THE GSI FROM HELL!!
GSI from hell, you are great.
No books in bibliography = C+ from the start. Period. Glad to know there are other hellish GSIs out there. And that we have AHFB on our side.
