This is what a good cover letter looks like.
No comments on this one, but it's been so long since I've even seen a decent cover letter in the fishbowl that I had to post this. This guy knows what he's doing. Note the lack of awkward transitions or extraneous filler text.

...aside from the fact that you kind of need a PhD and/or MD to be a prof and they'd never even consider someone with just a BA. The letter may be well-written, but the guy's totally delusional.
