Word Choice in the Irish Examiner

Hey all, while I don't have the time to do much more than write my paper today, I've been keeping up with the horrific story over at VA Tech.

During my constant refreshes of Google News, I came across the following paragraph from this Irish Examiner story

"The un-named killer took his own life after murdering two victims in a hall of residence and then, two hours later, gunned down 30 people in an academic building on the campus of Virginia Tech university."

Which sounds to me like the killer:
1) Murdered two victims
2) Killed himself
3) Reanimated and killed 30 people

Of course I'm not making light of what happened: only of the poor writing in the story about it.

Edit:
Events on Campus today:
There's an event going on on the Diag right now. It goes from 11-4pm. They're raising money to help out.
New Life Church is having prayers before their Overflow Event. The event is at 8, the prayers are at 7.

A whole generation of my family graduated from Virginia Tech and many of them are still in Blacksburg. I'm kind of wondering if U of M will organize a vigil or something because they can't really do much else.

Yeah, if anyone knows of vigils around here, post em and I'll link 'em to get the word out.

I know President Coleman sent out an email last night (or her minions did), but as of right now, there's nothing on the main UMich page about the event at all. Which, if you ask me, is kind of shameful.
