Ok, I took this class, and if this guy had even been to (the very sparse) lectures, the paper could have been decent. It's a philosophy paper, not "I'm right, yay!"

This is why I dislike people who agree with me but insist on being stupid.

I couldn't agree more, AHFB, the author here presents no actual case and his arguments are fallacious.

I think you missed one though: "If murder were not cruel, it would not be a crime." Definitely a non-sequitur. This is not how our society has defined crimes (though crimes CAN be cruel). Let's say an unqualified mother in a divorce suit were to get rights to the child to get even with a caring father (just an example, no stereotypes). Cruel, but not a crime (in fact, backed by the courts).

I just hate people like this; look at a f***ing Venn diagram if it's that hard for you, geez.
