Ok, I took this class, and if this guy had even been to (the very sparse) lectures, the paper could have been decent. It's a philosophy paper, not "I'm right, yay!"This is why I dislike people who agree with me but insist on being stupid.
"so why should murder sponsored by the state BARE no consequences?" because consequences should not be running around without clothing.bare≠bear
2 points to you, anonymous, for actually finding out how to type this "is not equal to" sign
you know i've never seen you so annoyed with a person as that day you described your experience with that starbucks girl. must've been painful. like cold blooded murder. you know, like committed in cold blood.

I couldn't agree more, AHFB, the author here presents no actual case and his arguments are fallacious.I think you missed one though: "If murder were not cruel, it would not be a crime." Definitely a non-sequitur. This is not how our society has defined crimes (though crimes CAN be cruel). Let's say an unqualified mother in a divorce suit were to get rights to the child to get even with a caring father (just an example, no stereotypes). Cruel, but not a crime (in fact, backed by the courts).I just hate people like this; look at a f***ing Venn diagram if it's that hard for you, geez.
