Investment Banking

If you, like Whit, thought the last paper was hard to get through, this one will be near impossible. It's one of the worst (and therefore best) papers I've found in a while. Give it a shot though, hopefully theres enough stick-figure comics contained within to keep you entertained during this b-school paper that just loves to talk about Microsoft Office and electronic mail (email).

"and more" is the new "and etc"

I talked to someone who said this is likely an assignment for a business information technology class in which students are supposed to interview someone in their chosen field and ask how they use computers in their job.

OMG, the description of podcasting is hilarious. I said to myself, "geeze, why didn't this person just go to the wikipedia entry to learn all about it?" Then I went to the wikipedia entry, and look what I found: "In general, these files contain audio or video, but also could be images, text, PDF, or any file type."

Suspicious that the file types are EXACTLY THE SAME, isn't it? I mean, I've never heard of using a podcast to send a PDF, and here it is, popping up in two totally different places...

Nice find; hilarious commentary, as usual!

The paragraph on Microsoft word [sic] is among the finest ever posted on this site.

The structure alone is comical, and that's completely ignoring the irony of praising "Microsoft word being easy to use and understand" while failing miserably at an incredibly simple task like adding page numbers.

Anonymous, you are amazing: I can't believe you found the exact quote like that.

Jeremy, good comment on the irony too. It seems that Author holds Powerpoint in highest regard b/c he capitalizes the most. No love for excel :(

Hey AHFB,

I love your site, and have been spreading it around to my friends. Just wondering.. do you find some good papers/writing samples that have been left behind along with what you've posted? Are most of the students at my school morons, or just a couple?

Hey AG-
Not everything that I find is bad. In fact, a couple days ago I found the second half of a screenplay that seemed like it was pretty good. I find a lot of lecture notes, a lot of class readings. The really technical, high-level psych and science papers seem pretty good. The other stuff's usally pretty bad though, but I feel like the good papers aren't getting left behind in the first place. Usually I have a big stack of potential stuff that I go through from a day and maybe only 2-3 papers that are possibly worth posting. I guess if I had to lump all the papers and short stories into a group, it would be "mediocre"

Thanks for the publicity btw,
AHFB

Oh yes, this is most definitely a BIT200 paper. I finished the first page and felt that I just HAD to comment. I can sympathize a little though, that class is pretty...pointless. I doubt that my paper would have gotten a better review. Meh.
