All about garages!

I'm gonna be out of town this weekend, so here's the Sunday update early.

Yes, from the author that brought you 'Yards,' we now have a discussion of garages. Looking through Author's other journal entries (which are about articles aren't as amusing as these two), I think these are probably for some sort of urban planning course.

I agree about the house cartoon. I don't know how on earth you were able to make a house look lonely, but you did.

You find the best stuff. Once I found a letter in the copier at work. I worked for a big insurance company and this letter was from the claims dept to a client. I don't think there was one complete sentence in the entire letter. I'm so evil that I highlighted and commented on the errors, then taped it to the wall.

I don't see how someone could be in college and be that terrible at writing essays. Seriously. Do they not teach essay writing anymore?

I wonder what his or her thoughts are on mail slots on front doors versus mailboxes on the road.

I go to a giant public school.

I cannot, cannot, cannot believe the intelligence of some of the people at college! Why are they there? How did they get in? How do they manage to pass anything?
It's depressing.
University is meant to be elite, letting people like this in ruins the achievement for those that deserve it.
I can't believe it.
This guy is an idiot.

I like the nice reference to yards...even though All About Yards! is all about the recent emergence of yards. Author kind of undermines his/her other paper. Sigh. If only Author had made the connection.

And I was here before the feature. Go me.

Just wanted to say that this is a great idea for a site. I've always enjoyed reading letters/papers I find places :)

Hilarious! And sad. So sad. Why's it titled "journal entry"? Could it be, a whole journal devoted to these trite thoughts? Say it ain't so.

As an English composition (Eng 124/125 and Great Books )teacher, I regularly read such drivel. Alas, there's only so much you can do in one semester to reform poor writing habits!

This blog is great for a good laugh!

I'm impressed by the instructor's comments and illustrations. As a writing teacher myself, (English as a Second Language, no less!) I rarely feel I have the time or energy to be so creative in responding to my students' writing. Kudos! Thanks for the reminder that grading can be fun.

Wow, is that essay actually real?

Blogger AHFB said...

Yep. It's a real essay. It seems like it's part of a bunch of journal entries for submission on the last day of a term. People usually don't put a whole lot of work into journal entries, but still.
