Mike Anglin City Council Flyer

Chris S. sent me an email a while ago containing a flyer. He says it all, so I'll just quote his submission email:
"I found the attached flyer in my driveway yesterday

June 26, 2007 Tuesday

I thought you might enjoy it

It is very motivational

I particularly like the author's use of punctuation.

I hope "the campaign to elect Mike Anglin for Council" didn't overpay

(larger version)

I hope that Anglin's speech writer does a better job than his advertising manager. Oh, and his webmaster.

More notes in the comments.

Edit: Also, our pals over at AAIO have some Mike Anglin-ness going on as well.

Yeah, I know I always blur out names, but I figure that running for city office is an entirely different thing than leaving something behind in the fishbowl's printers.

On another note, I was going to double post today (as this post is a bonus update instead of a weekly update), but I have to hit the Fishbowl again first to get some more stuff.

Thanks to Chris for submitting this.

At first glance, I thought this to be a flier for some high school kid's ASB election. Then I realized that a high school kid would have done a much. much better job.

"Paid for"? Oh, so someone at the campaign bought a ream of paper for 99 cents?

You'd better vote for him, though! Ann Arbor's existence is at stake!

I love the "environmental protections." Sounds like a LolCat.

You're welcome. I'm glad it was as amusing to you as it was to me.

This was the first completely left-justified, mono-sized flyer I've ever seen. I still can't figure out why this person decided to punctuate only their obligatory "power of three" statement. I'm guessing the comma in the date was a fluke of MS's auto-formatting, as was the underlined email address. It sounds like he is talking to himself. "Thank you Mike Anglin" indeed.

The website was just as funny. He gets slight props from me for not having a "Generated by Microsoft Word" tag in the head. However, I rescind said props after noting that a 6th grader could have hand written a better page.

How environmentally friendly is it to plaster the neighborhood with paper?

I concur with anonymous. Enviro-friendly candidates would surely go door-to-door rather than littering.
